Discover Which iPhone Is Best For You

Steve Jobs launched the first iPhone in 2007, and there was only one singular model you could buy. Regarding storage, there were two options: 4 GB or 8GB, and as far as color choices go, the options presented were black and aluminum. As far as carriers go, AT&T was the only one that supported the iPhone.

Now, 14 years later, Apple sells seven models of the iPhone, five of which launched this past year. There’s a model that works well with almost every primary phone carrier worldwide. The iPhone offers an assortment of colors and finishes, and storage options now top out at 512GB.

It’s important to note that having a high-quality phone is crucial for a seamless remote work environment. Even though many of us have now had time to adjust, converting our largely comfort-centric homes into efficient workspaces still poses a challenge. Check out other quality gear that can help you increase your productivity and efficiency while working remotely.

To help you figure out which iPhone is the best fit for you, we’ve reviewed each one on the list thoroughly right here.

A Reliable Option For Most Business Executives

The iPhone 12 marks a new beginning, with support for 5G being a crown jewel feature. Out of the four options in Apple’s 12 series. The regular iPhone 12 is a bit outshined by its siblings. But if you take a closer look, you’ll realize it’s the iPhone 12 Pro, but with a $170 price cut. Both phones have the same design, display, 5G support, cameras, MagSafe charging, and an insanely fast A14 Bionic chip.

So, what do you miss out on by not going Pro? You won’t get a dedicated telephoto camera, the ability to take Apple ProRaw photos, or the matte finish back and stainless-steel sides. Instead, you get a glossy back finish and matte aluminum sides. If you opt for an iPhone 12 and can afford to pay $50 more, we recommend upgrading from 64GB of storage to 128GB.

The Best iPhone Overall

iPhone 12 Pro Max

If you want a large screen and long battery life, the iPhone 12 Pro Max is worth the price. Especially if you’re looking to get every last drop of image quality in your photos and videos, the iPhone 12 Pro Max is the way to go. Aside from being both large and heavy, the 12 Pro Max has video and photo features not found on any other model. The telephoto lens has a 2.5x optical zoom compared to the 2x optical zoom on the 12 Pro. That extra 0.5x goes quite a long way. According to Apple, the wide-angle camera on the 12 Pro Max has a larger sensor, which gets an 87% improvement in its low-light capability. Compared to the iPhone 12 Pro, it isn’t easy to notice those improvements considering Apple’s image processing is already very high quality.

To help things even more, the 12 Pro Max has sensor-based optical image stabilization instead of a lens-based OIS found on the 12, 12 Mini, and 12 Pro. Stabilizing the sensor helps you gain the equivalent of a stop of light, which is quite impressive.

Similar to the iPhone 12 Pro, it can shoot Apple ProRaw photos. The Apple iPhone 12 pro-Max is worth every penny if you can manage its large size.

If You Prefer Touch ID

iPhone SE (2020)

The iPhone SE (2020) has the same body as the iPhone 8 and is the only iPhone on this list with Touch ID, which is no downside. With many people wearing face masks nowadays, touch ID can make the user experience more seamless. Internally, the SE has the same processor as the iPhone 11, supports 4G, and is the only iPhone on this list with a classic design.

One You Can Travel With

iPhone 12 Mini

The iPhone 12 Mini is excellent because it has everything the iPhone 12 has, but it is much smaller. It holds the same flat-sided design, support for 5G, and an OLED screen with support for HDR. The screen itself is covered with Apple’s ceramic shield. The body has an IP68 rating for water and dust resistance and supports MagSafe wireless accessories and charging. It also has the same A14 Bionic processor, runs the same iOS 14 software, and has the same cameras. The iPhone 12 and 12 Mini are practically the same phones; one is just smaller.

With that said, we only recommend getting the 12 Mini if you want a smaller iPhone. Although it is $100 cheaper, the battery life may pose quite a few issues. As with other phones on the list, we recommend paying $50 more and getting the 128GB version.

An iPhone Pro Max Alternative

iPhone 12 Pro

The iPhone 12 Pro Max is the ultimate iPhone, although its size, weight, and price tag turn quite a few people away. The $999 iPhone 12 Pro is appealing because it gives you the same build and premium finish. That said, you get a smaller screen, smaller battery, and a 2x telephoto camera instead of a 2.5x found on the iPhone Pro Max.
